New UK organisation brings together community leaders, creatives, campaigners and cultural changemakers to build a future where LGBTQ+ people can thrive
LONDON, UK — Queer Beyond Belief, a new UK-based not-for-profit organisation dedicated to cultivating, elevating and protecting LGBTQ+ joy, will officially launch on 29 June 2026 at Outernet London.
Bringing together more than 200 LGBTQ+ leaders, artists, campaigners, journalists, community organisers, funders and allies, the launch marks the beginning of an ambitious new movement focused on culture, storytelling and collective action.
At a time when public conversations about LGBTQ+ communities are increasingly dominated by hostility, division and crisis, Queer Beyond Belief is choosing a different starting point: joy.
Not as an escape from reality, but as a powerful force for connection, creativity and social change.
Founded by award-winning community organiser, writer and campaigner, Rhammel Afflick FRSA, Queer Beyond Belief exists to help LGBTQ+ communities to not only survive, but to flourish.
Speaking on this, Rhammel said: “Too much of the conversation about LGBTQ+ lives focuses on what we’re fighting against. We believe our communities deserve more than survival. We deserve opportunities to dream, create, celebrate and belong.
“Queer Beyond Belief exists because joy is not a luxury. It’s part of the infrastructure that allows communities to thrive. Through culture, storytelling and collective action, we’re creating spaces where people can connect, imagine and build together.”
This means that joy is integral to everything that happens at Queer Beyond Belief, enabling people and communities to shine; and Queer Beyond Belief has that at the heart of the mission, doing so through events, storytelling, podcasts, community gatherings, strategic partnerships and funding opportunities designed to support emerging LGBTQ+ talent and grassroots innovation.
The organisation’s long-term vision is to become a leading platform for queer creativity, leadership and cultural influence across the UK, helping to amplify underrepresented voices and strengthen community infrastructure.
The launch event will feature performances, speeches, artistic contributions and opportunities for connection; bringing together voices from across the LGBTQ+ community and beyond.
Guests will include representatives from charities, community groups, cultural institutions, media organisations, businesses and grassroots movements, reflecting Queer Beyond Belief’s ethos that lasting change is built through collaboration.
The launch comes amid global discourse surrounding the importance of community connection and cultural participation for LGBTQ+ people; while many grassroots organisations continue to face increasing financial and social pressures world-wide.
Rather than focusing solely on visibility, Queer Beyond Belief aims to strengthen the networks, relationships and cultural spaces that help communities thrive.
